
The Pakistan-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) recently held a significant briefing session featuring presentations from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Commerce. The session aimed to enhance bilateral relations, promote trade, identify investment opportunities, and explore new avenues for cooperation between the two nations.
The briefing was attended by several Members of the National Assembly (MNAs), including Mir Khan Muhammad Jamali, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, Ms. Shaista Pervaiz Malik (virtually), Ms. Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam (virtually), and Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa. The session was chaired by Syed Raza Ali Gillani, MNA and Convener of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan PFG.
Discussions during the session focused on strengthening existing partnerships and identifying new areas for cooperation across various sectors. These sectors include parliamentary collaboration, people-to-people contacts, and joint initiatives.
Syed Raza Ali Gillani emphasized that Pakistan places great importance on its relationship with Azerbaijan. He highlighted the significant progress made in recent months in strengthening diplomatic ties and achieving notable developments. He underscored the need for consistent efforts to further enhance cooperation in various fields and stressed the importance of prioritizing the strengthening of parliamentary ties through the Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Members of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan PFG discussed opportunities for expanding trade relations, with a particular focus on sectors such as technology, renewable energy, and sustainable development. Plans to encourage bilateral investments and facilitate smoother trade exchanges were also outlined.
The members reiterated their dedication to advancing a comprehensive partnership that benefits both nations and their citizens.
