
Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, Member of the National Assembly and Convenor of the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights (PCCR), has praised Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh of the Lahore High Court for his thoughtful and resolute decision to deny pre-arrest bail to a rape suspect. Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan lauded the ruling as a pivotal moment in raising societal awareness about the severity of such heinous crimes.
“Rape is not merely a barbaric violation of an individual’s sanctity but an assault on the collective conscience of society,” stated MNA Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan. Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan highlighted that this issue extends beyond women, as children and even men are increasingly susceptible to various forms of abuse.
