NA Speaker Regrets PTI Allegations, Reaffirms Neutral Role

In a recent statement, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Speaker of the National Assembly, expressed his regret over the allegations made by some PTI leaders and Members of the National Assembly regarding his involvement in the negotiation process.

Sadiq clarified that his role in the negotiations between the government and the opposition is strictly that of a facilitator. He emphasized that arranging meetings with the party’s founding chairman is beyond his mandate and responsibility.

The Speaker voiced his disappointment over claims that attempts to contact his office were not positively received. He reiterated that his doors have always been open to all members of the National Assembly and that he has never refused a meeting with any member.

Furthermore, Sadiq stated that if PTI leaders believe he should withdraw from the negotiation process, he is open to considering such a proposal to maintain the neutrality and integrity of the Speaker’s office.

Sadiq also addressed concerns about his recent visit abroad, assuring that it does not hinder his ability to arrange meetings. He affirmed his readiness to facilitate such arrangements upon the request of both the government and the opposition.
